Review Policy


Hello there, I am absolutely delighted you are considering me to review your book!

Please note that I can’t accept every request. This might be down to personal preference, or because I simply don’t have the time at that moment. Bluntly Bookish is very much a passion project of mine, but I do still have a full-time job that demands attention as well.

If you’d like me to review your book, please get in touch by going to the contact page. If you could include the following details in your request, it would be greatly appreciated:

  • The title of the book

  • Name of the Publisher ( I am not accepting self-published books at this moment in time)

  • Release Date

  • A summary/blurb of the book

  • The cover of the book

If you would like me to post the review by or before a certain date such as the publication date, please let me know in advance as well.

Review copies I will accept:

  • Physical Copies (Paperback and Hardcover)

  • Digital copies (PDF’s and/or Mobi)

Genres I review:

While my first love will always be fantasy, it is certainly not my only love. My preferred genres are:

  • Detective and Mystery

  • Fantasy

  • Science Fiction

  • Suspense and Thrillers

  • True Crime

  • Young-adult

However, I’d be more than happy to consider any book, regardless of genre, that has a great synopsis.


About my reviews:

All of my reviews will be my honest opinion of the book. This means that if I did not like the book, I will state so. Please understand that I am not going to write a 5-star review simply because you provided me with a copy. If you feel uncomfortable with this idea, that is completely fine. It just means we aren’t the right match for each other.

Generally speaking, I aim to write a review within a month of receiving. My reviews include the release date, publishers synopsis of the book, synopsis on the author and of course my respectful opinion on the book.

In addition to being featured on Bluntly Bookish, I will also publish my reviews on Amazon and Goodreads.

Please note that accepting and receiving a book does not automatically guarantee that it will be read and/or posted on the blog immediately.
